Africa Series

The African Wildlife Paintings Series began when my husband and I took our two 11-year old grandchildren to South Africa, Botswana and Zambia in 2012. During safari drives, the photo ops were fantastic. When I discovered our guide, Lisa Reed, was an artist, who made handmade paper from elephant dung, I was hooked! When the first paper shipment arrived, the Wildlife Series began to take shape, first with a rhino, then a cape buffalo, followed by elephants, lion, kudu, giraffe. All originals are watercolor paintings on elephant dung paper. There are giclees of each original available for $75 each, size is 11″ x 11″ on archival paper, unframed. The originals are framed, size for first seven is 18″ x 18″ the large painting of the two giraffes necking is 21″ W x 29″ H. Please contact me for pricing. painter@julieread.net
