Unlock your creativity! Julie Read will share her experiences with creating textured backgrounds on different substrates at the Central Virginia Watercolor Guild’s April meeting.
Someone once said, “Art is a painted memory that evokes an emotional response.”
I choose to paint subjects that excite me because of their shape, color, history or simply because I love them. The flowers and cherubs in my garden, baby pigs, and even my friend Vern’s cows in New Mexico have been my subject matter.
Growing up in the West has given me an appreciation for the mountains, Native American culture, the aspens and the red rock formations in the Garden of the Gods.
My thanks go to each person who has purchased my work, as they have contributed to my journey as a painter. My students have contributed to my growth as a painter, and we are on a journey of discovery together.
