Silo at Loudoun Milling

Description

For the past century, this grouping of silos is located at Loudoun Milling on the outskirts of Hamilton, Virginia, next to the Washington & Old Dominion railroad. Today that railroad line is known as the W&OD bicycle path. One of the area’s few operating mills and one of the oldest, it sells general animal feed, fences and gates, landscaping, and masonry materials.  Since I like the angles, strong verticals of the inner workings of machinery, this location screamed “paint me.”
