Description

The Old Town Spring was built in 1756 as part of Col. James Wood’s Glen Burnie Estate. In 1808, the water supply from this spring was only a few years behind Philadelphia in the construction of a wooden pipe system built to provide water to the town residents. Today the structure is owned and maintained by the City of Winchester,VA. The structure is brick with a stone foundation; since I pass by it most days, I thought it should be captured in watercolor.
